A Reliable God
“Let us acknowledge the Lord, let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:3
Much is made about the grace of God, the power of God, the wisdom of God, the kindness, love, goodness, and mercy of our Heavenly Father. But what about the reliability of God? Ever hear a sermon on that?
Very few of us struggle with doubt that the sun will rise tomorrow morning. When it rains in April, we’re not surprised. With every day that passes and breath still rises and falls in our lungs, with every new relationship, with every hardship we come through, God is proving himself reliable time and time again.
If someone is reliable, you trust them. You trust them with your time, your resources, your hopes and your desires. If someone is really reliable, you trust them with your heart. If we truly believe that God is as constant as his word says he is, then we ought to have no reservations whatsoever about giving him everything we have.
PRAYER: Dear God, thank you that along with everything else, you are a reliable God. Today, I trust you with my thoughts, my actions, my relationships, my words, my hopes, my dreams, my fears, my worries, and most of all my heart. Jesus, I trust you with my life.
