Will You Speak Up?

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? -Esther 4:14

Esther was a queen, a beauty queen who had risen to great influence with the king. She was also a Jew, whose people were being utterly mistreated right under the king’s nose. Esther had the platform to speak up, to make a difference for her people. The question she was facing was, would she use it? Would she risk her position to help deliver her people?

Today, injustice still permeates our lives in many ways. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is that Esther isn’t the only one with a platform anymore. Thanks to progressions of technology, now each and every one of us has a platform of some sort. We all have a way of making our voice heard. The same questions still remains though, will we use that platform? Are we will to risk our reputation or our comfortable lifestyle in order to bring the change God has called us to take part in?

The Bible makes it clear that God is going to bring about his justice one way or another. But what an incredibly kind God we have to give us an opportunity to take part in that. Will you stand up today, and use your platform to help usher in his justice?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you allow someone like me to be used for your purposes. I pray that you would give me courage to speak up where you have called me to and to shine light into dark places. I pray where there is injustice that you would bring justice. I pray that where there is brokenness, you would bring restoration. I believe you have placed me here for such a time as this.
